‘Action for Sight 2017’ : View and feel the world in a foot's hop!
Orbis eagerly invites you to be part of ‘Action for Sight 2017’ and safeguard and restore the vision of everyone all over the world! The campaign is going to raise public awareness on how distance connects to eye health and the work of Orbis.
Why Do We Have to Look Far?
Prolonged close work (like reading, using computers and smartphones) cause focusing eye muscle (ciliary muscle) overstrained. Orbis invites everyone to look at far distances and relax your eyes.
How to Look Far?
Have you...
... look far to rest your eyes from time to time while you are watching TV?
... go hiking and look far to rest your eyes?
… play badminton or soccer to rest your eyes when concentrating on the movement of the ball?
… stop and look far to rest your eyes while you are working/studying?

According to the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), there are 253 million visually impaired patients and 1.1 billion people with near-vision impairment. Among these, 89% of visually impaired people live in low and middle-income countries. Orbis has been working in these countries far away to restore their eye sights.
How to Join Action for Sight 2017?
According to the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), the total number of blind people in the world could triple by 2050, if treatment is not improved by better funding. We cannot fight against avoidable blindness without your help. Join our fight to make sure that no one leads a life of unnecessary darkness!
