Visually impaired people use white canes to help them navigate their way around busy city streets or badly-paved and uneven rural roads. In poorer developing countries, pavements are so inadequately maintained that blind people can easily injure themselves whilst walking. All it takes to free them from such unnecessary risks are simple eye surgery and medical care!
Orbis urges everyone to support “Action for Sight” and share the hope of light with visually impaired people. Eventually, they can chuck the white canes away! Participant donating MOP100 or above will be rewarded an Orbis Eye Care Pack, which contains a themed commemorative pin, and practical eye care tips to help you end avoidable blindness.
