We began working in Chile, where there are more than 57,000 people living with blindness and 470,000 people with vision impairment, in the fall of 2018. Simulation is a large part of our strategy both to help reach more people, and more importantly, improve patient safety.

Simulation Training in Santiago

Our Flying Eye Hospital landed in Chile for the first time in May 2019. While in Santiago eye teams from across Latin America boarded the Flying Eye Hospital to undergo simulation training on the Mobile Simulation Center, donated by Collins Aerospace.

Special Thank You

We would like to extend our gratitude to the hospitals and sponsors that have partnered with Orbis in Chile to continue eye care training year round. We would also like to thank Collins Aerospace for donating the Mobile Simulation Center, and sponsoring the 2019 Flying Eye Hospital project. Generous donors allow Orbis to extend its mission and improve the quality of eye care available around the world.
